32!?

I'm keeping my goal!  1 week later, I'm writing another post!  Anyway, sorry for the blurry picture, but I love this picture of Randy because it's a real smile, and those are hard to get with a camera.  

Randy's birthday is on Tuesday and he turns 32.  So, this will be his birthday post, even though I haven't done one for Kenadi or Mya this year.  (I guess I could still dedicate a post to each of them, couldn't I?)  Today I have been reminded several times why I love Randy so much.  I'm going to get sappy on you, so I'm sorry in advance.  Randy got up in church today and bore his testimony.  It was such a nice testimony, and I really loved listening to him tell it.  I thought it was so cute too because he is such a thinker, and a scientist, that he compared his and our testimonies to the moon and all of it's different phases.  A good analogy, really, but it was just like something he'd say, and I loved it.   What I really loved the most today was when we were sitting in church next to each other, and he just held my hand.  I don't know why it was more touching today than other days, it's not like he doesn't do that sometimes, but today it felt more meaningful, and I soaked it up.  =)  Then, after church I was making dessert for after dinner tonight and he was in the living room playing telephone and all of the other little games that Kenadi and Emmy were making up.  One of them was, "ok, now we have to all sit on each other!"  Or, "now Daddy, touch your toes with your left hand and stick your right foot out!"  Cute little silly games like that.  I really love that he will do those things with them, and they adore him for it too.

I am really blessed to have him as my eternal husband, and my best friend.  I love you Randy!  Happy 32!

Let's try this again, shall we?

I've pretty much given up on blogging the last year-ish, but I've decided it's a great way to "journal" and my kids will love to see it later.  And Mya- well, she's missing out because of the lack of posts and pictures that she's been in on here.  SO, I'll start with a big announcement and see if anyone still reads this thing.  ;)  BABY #4 is on the way!  I'm 14 weeks pregnant, and finally feeling better.  I'm not going to find out if we're having a boy or a girl this time, and the baby's due sometime in the end of October.  We are all excited to have another little baby, and the girls are REALLY excited.  =)

Kenadi turned 7

 My little brother Reid and my parents all came to visit this month

 Mya turned 2 in January

 Emma is now 4 1/2 and VERY interested in that bird on Randy's shoulder.

• Emma now wants to be called Emmy
• Mya is potty trained with out a night diaper and everything!
• Randy still teaches early morning seminary- but they're done in a couple of weeks and then I get my husband back in the evenings!  He studies every night, so it's pretty quiet around here.
• Ok, I think that's it, and I'm going to blog at least once a week again, I'm writing it here to help keep me to my new goal!

Hello?

Yep, we're still alive.  =)  A few things have happened lately:

 Halloween.

 My birthday.  Mya had been helping herself ahead of time.

 Hunting for pumpkins.  This was as good as we got when it came to pumpkin patches. 

 A long trip to the north east.  I will post more of this trip later, but this is us in front of the White House.

 I have this picture on our wedding day that Randy and I think is really awkward because I'm "smelling a flower" and smiling.  I recreated it for you all here.

 Emma's birthday.  She turned 4 already!! This is a car mat Randy and I made for her.

 She wanted to spend her birthday at the cowboy museum.

 She also had this elaborate idea for a cake- Hello kitty on one side, the little mermaid on the other, a princess carriage, purple frosting on the side, with white on top, and a purple cake in the middle.... This was a good as I could do with the time I had.  She loved it still.

 Emma's soccer season came to an end yesterday.  She did pretty good!  She just had a hard time learning that this is the one time you don't share- she would run right along with the other team and feel bad about taking the ball away, but she had some awesome games and made a bunch of goals.

Back from my hiatus

Yay!  We have more storage for pictures again!  Sorry for the long break- I ran out of picture storage and couldn't decide if I wanted to pay the $2 a month to have more.  =)  Yep, I'm cheap.  Anyway, here are a few things we've done this summer, minus our visit from Randy's mom.  I think that deserves it's own post.  

Our morning ritual.  Randy rides his bike to school every day and the girls like to go outside with him and ride the bike to the driveway.  THey love their daddy.

Mya learned to swim.  Well, with the help of water wings.  She wont let me hold her in the water very often now.  Anyway, she is really good.  She can go all over the pool, not just stay in one spot.  And she can go on her stomach and back.  It's been fun to watch her.

Emma's not petrified of water anymore, and that's so nice.  She'll go in by herself with some sort of flotation device.  She used to hold onto me and cry the whole time.

And she has her own style.  Definitely.

Kenadi started public school again.  First grade!  I do want to homeschool her again, but this was right for her at this time.  She loves it and has a great teacher.

I finished a couple of projects.  The couches have needed recovered for a while, and I did this and the pillows.  Now to just finish the love seat....

I just love this high-chair.  It was one I found at a garage sale for $3 and it reminded me of one my parents had for me when I was a baby and my grandparents have one like this.  Well, it was very outdated, so I chose this fabric, laminated it, and recovered it.  Oh, and sanded the tray and repainted it white.  I love it's modern reference to the 70's.

My husband is an old man. His name is Randy.

Randy just keeps getting older and older.

Despite that, I still love him. 

And so do our girls.  They love and adore him.  He loves and adores us.

They also love candy.  You can totally see that they expect to get some from him.

Here are some attempts at family pictures on Randy's birthday (May 7th- yes, I'm very late).  I noticed that  I always squint with my left eye in pictures.  At least these ones.  I've never noticed that before.

You get the point.  I think we gave up. 

Thank goodness Randy asks for ice cream cakes.  They're so easy.  

I have had a few thoughts lately.  I loved Randy before we got married and thought he'd be a good husband and father, but really I didn't know that he would be for sure. It is such a blessing that he is a good husband and father.  He is so good and patient with a house full of girls.  He really loves the kids and me, and I am so grateful for that.  He even lets them do things like this to him:

Some things I love about Randy: 1) He's a family man.  He doesn't feel like he has to go out with friends every night. He likes to be with us.  2) He's dang smart 3) He is a hard worker 4) He is passionate about things like stars and planets and bikes and computers and science... I'm sure there's more.  But when he's passionate about something he just soaks up all the info he can about it, and he gets so excited about these things.  It just amazes me with what he can do and remember when he's excited about something.
