Doesn't this background make you want to dance? It reminded me of how much I love dancing. It also reminded me of some dancing memories I have. I'll name a few, and if any of you have some you want to add, feel free. First, stake youth dances. Sitting on the side, wishing that my crush would ask me to dance... when I was 14. When I was older, just freestyle "butterfly" dancing (barefoot) with Wendy, and not caring what anyone thought. Swing dancing with friends at a dance studio for old people. Country dancing, and dancing and dancing. I'm talking about a kind of fast swing dance, but countried up a little, not line dancing. Line dancing is fun, but I love the fast country dancing. I used to go at least 2 times a week, and I had a perfect dance once. A friend of mine was really good, and I remember dancing with him every time I went... and one of our dances was so fast, with tons of spins and twirls, and dips and... we never messed up. Rythm... loud music... care free... I LOVE dancing. Then, I remember dancing with my roommates. We would dress up crazy and go dance in the middle of the floor. People would look at us like we were crazy, and we had so much fun! I remember going to break dancing club with Judy and learning a few moves. I remember the dance I asked Randy to, and the one I made him ask me to. =) I remember that my mom loves to dance.
I watched Mamma Mia with some friends for the first time this week, and it made me want to dance. It reminded me of myself. It also reminded me of foot loose, Save the last dance, Greese, and more. It also reminded me that Haley and I used to pretend that we lived in a musical and we'd singand dance all day. How funny! Oh, I miss dancing. (Randy, if you read this, you could ask me to go dancing with you or something... I wouldn't mind)
Now, I love to watch Kenadi dance. I hope she keeps it up.

It is so fun to feel that connection with music and dancing-
I am glad you remembered yourself.
Its good to remember that from time to time!
Your kids will love dancing with you- and finding out who they are through movement.
I wish we lived closer, I think we would be really good friends! I also love to dance, and had a lot of the same memories as you. I actually went to a high school dance with Randy, remember the semi-truck? Fun times. Randy, TAKE YOUR WIFE DANCING, she deserves it!
I have a tape of a college-going Tara that may or may not involve some dancing...
Thanks for posting this, Tara.
I remember going to singles dances and dancing w/ everyone. I LOVED to dance. I the freedom and joy of just moving. I danced for me.
I remember watching Missy dance in the middle of the church gym while the grown-ups were cleaning up from a church party. She was so young... maybe 5-6 yrs old. She just danced, loving the movement and experiencing joy- or at least it seemed that way to me. I remember people stopping and just watching her. She was great. (still is).
Hmmm... I wonder if Tara is doing the dance on Amber's tape that I remember her doing all the time... :)
Remember when we danced so hard that the floor shook and the radio fell off the window sill and knocked a candle off the the table and spilled wax all over the floor and Sheyann got mad and ironed it up and burned an iron mark into the carpet and I had to pay for it with my deposit because everyone blamed it all on me!! Good times! Randy! Would you just dance with the poor girl?!
Dancing sucks! (From Nick.) Did we really pretend life was a musical? That's kinda gay...just kidding! I remember singing all the time while doing the dishes and Mom and Dad would get so mad at us that eventually only one of us would do all of the dishes by ourselves! Somehow it ALWAYS seemed to be me! I would get so mad at you! Good times though...I wish Nick would like dancing also. What is with our husbands?
Dancing is therapy! I love dancing and I love your backround. The song "dancing queen" is my "theme" song. Loved your post and I think your blog is great.
For some reason dancing seems to be harder and more painful than it used to be. I love to torment my children with my dancing and singing expertise- especially when their friends are here. They don't usually join in- they kinda look horrified.......
I am not a dancer at all. But I know what you mean about Mama Mia. I made my husband get up and show me some moves (he was in ball room dancing for 5 years). Then for the next week I couldn't stop singing. Thats my thing. I should leave the dancing to everyone else. I hope Randy takes you dancing.
did you gtell Randy what I ALMOST commented??
OMG so Amy told me you guys had a blog...I love all of your posts!
