Easter Celebrations

I decided to try this format that says "none" and see what it does. It doesn't let me change things once I decide on a format though. So, hopefully it doesn't look weird. Also, don't look at the mess on the table. We had a good excuse for that. Anyways, Kenadi loved Easter. She had a blast helping us color eggs. She ended up with a green hand after she dunked it in the dye, though. Luckily it matched with her Easter dress that Grandma Simonson got her. She woke up at 10 am on Easter Sunday and didn't really understand what was going on. She looked into the basket that the Easter Bunny left, and loved the candy, the ball, bubbles, and coloring book. She was so excited, she kept saying "Easter!". Then I tried to get her to hunt for the eggs that the bunny hid in the house, and she didn't want to leave her new goodies to pick up eggs, until she saw that there was gummy bears in them. Next thing I new she was saying, "OH!" with wide eyes, and a mouth full of gummy bears. That woke her up.
We had a nice Easter dinner with glazed ham, green bean casserole, jello fruit salad, green salad, mashed potatoes, and a delicious chocolate dessert. We invited a family over in our ward that we are good friends with, and Kenadi loves their kids. We also had a single older lady in our ward over, and she had fun with everyone. After dinner, the kids had an egg hunt outside. They had fun, and claimed that the daddies who hid them, didn't do a very good job. I love Easter! I also LOVE Ham!

Highlights of "1"

Well, Kenadi's birthday is this Friday! April 4th, to be exact. So, I thought I'd highlight some of her qualities and highlights of Kenadi's year. Kenadi LOVES to play outside. She especially loves the swing set. The big downfall to that, is that as soon as I send her outside, she's banging on the back door telling me "Wee! Swing?!" That means that I have to go outside to push her, and my soul purpose of sending her out there alone is so that I can get dinner on, or cleanup fast without her "help". She's pretty good at going on the slide alone now, except that sometimes it takes her 5 minutes to get the courage to slide down once she's at the top.
Kenadi is also a little mommy. She is obsessed with babies/ Live ones, fake ones, and animal ones. She is constantly harassing the babies at church with her giant hugs and kisses while she lays on top of them and squishes them. (Hey, she didn't learn that from me!) So, I am grateful for her babies at home to show her how we really treat babies. She likes to rock them, sing to them, feed them milk, and put them to sleep with blankets. She also shows her little cabbage patch doll how to go potty on the toilet like a big girl. (because she is one herself, and is wonderfully potty trained! I give her treats with each success and reward myself with one sometimes for doing such a good job of training her)
Kenadi is such a big helper in the kitchen. She has no issues with sticking her arm in my dirty dishes up to her elbows just to help me wash them. Then, all of the water or anything else that she spills on the floor is promptly cleaned up with my brand-new-dishrag. (this is why I send her outside)
Of course, one of the best things about her is that she takes after Randy and me in so many ways. She has my sweet tooth and love for licking the bowl and beaters. I think we are both immune to salmonella because of it! And, she loves to read books and magazines while she's sitting on the pot just like her daddy.
There are so many more things that she likes to do, like tease her Mommy and Daddy by stealing our seats (she runs to them and squeals "Daddy's seat!"). She also loves her books, her friends, Elmo, nursery, and singing. I love to hear her sing. It is so sweet. She sings "Jesus wants me for a Sunbeam!" and bursts her hands open when she does the word ""sunbeam", "Ring around the Rosies", "1o Little Monkeys", 5 Little Ducks", "The Wheels on the Bus", and so many more. She does the motions to all of them, and it is so cute. She is a terrible eater, so I have to sing these to her while she's eating to get her to eat. Obviously my food is usually cold by the time I get to eat it. She also loves her family. Not just us, but she constantly asks about her "Uncles, Nana, Papa, Grandma, Grandpa, Reid, Chase, Jenna, Ka, Koe, Mok, Kenal", and etc. Then, after going through everyone's name, she says, "Bye, bye.". It's sad. Well, Kenadi is fun. We love her, and her expanding vocabulary and personality. What a blessing!

Okay, I'm doing it...

Well, I was browsing through some friends' blogs and decided that it is time for us to get in the loop of keeping in touch through technology. I have slowly gotten better at emailing, but this could be fun, and easier, right? Well, I can't promise much, but a glimpse into our everyday lives... a breakdown of what happens here in Oklahoma! As I figure things out, this should get bigger and better... Welcome to the Oklahoma Breakdown!
